Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should I wear?

A: Comfortable, loose clothing that allows you to move freely.

Trainers are fine as footwear to start with. Later on, most people prefer a flat-soled shoe such as boating shoes, Chinese slippers or beach shoes.

The Community Centre does not allow bare-foot training for Health and Safety reasons.

Q: Are there changing rooms at the Centre?

A: There are cloak rooms / toilets. Students usually change at home before coming to class.

Q: Do you run any other classes?

A: My Tai Chi instructor, Jane Quinn, also runs Tai Chi classes in the Bromsgrove & Redditch area. Please contact me for details. A UKTQF instructor teaches at David Lloyds, Bromsgrove.

Q: Is this a martial art?

A: Tai chi chuan is a martial art, with established health benefits. The focus of my classes is health and relaxation; through standing, moving and breathing exercises.

If you would like to learn the martial applications of tai chi, I recommend and train with the UK Taiji Qigong Foundation.
